TESTA DI LEGNO (“BLOCKHEAD”): They call him Testa di legno — Blockhead — but the fact that he doesn't say much, keeps his head down and seems not to understand is not because he is dull; it is because he channels his energy into reaching his goal: doing his job well, with dedication and a sense of responsibility. He doesn't say much, not because he has nothing to say, but because he says only what is needed. He keeps his head down to be more effective. He pretends not to understand when he catches the scent of compromise. Like an athlete training for a race, Testa di legno repeats every day the gestures that fill his days: he gets up, gets ready, says goodbye to his family and heads to work. He puts in head and heart. And when he completes a project, when he finishes work, that is when he does lift his head — because he feels that his work gives him value.
