Where the Noise Disappears

This project transformed a historic city canteen, by then obsolete, into a modern, multipurpose venue designed to be used at any time of day. From breakfast to lunch, from aperitifs to dinner and on into the evening, the new space stands out for its versatility, thanks to a layout that harmoniously integrates the interior spaces with a completely self-contained outdoor kiosk.

The design is built on warm, enveloping tones, with the aim of creating a relaxing, welcoming atmosphere. Particular attention was paid to acoustic comfort: the interiors are designed with a high level of sound insulation, to offer guests a moment of complete detachment from the bustle of the city.

Another pillar of the project is promoting a sustainable and healthy way of life. That idea is reflected in the predominant use of wood and in the naturalistic motifs of the wall decorations, which give the venue a sense of connection with nature. The lighting, designed with warm tones, enhances not only the look of the food but also the perception of colour, improving the overall dining experience.

In short, the regeneration of this dining space is an example of how design can combine aesthetics, functionality and wellbeing to offer guests a place to relax and enjoy a complete gastronomic experience.
