A Glimpse of Nature

A villa built on a hillside ridge so that the splendid panoramic views over nature and the surrounding landscape can be enjoyed fully and constantly from every room in the house. The project covered the design of the interiors, the outdoor areas and the garden. The whole scheme is based on the interplay between maximising natural brightness and the search for a continuous visual and functional link with the outside, so as to stay constantly connected to nature's growing cycles and make them part of everyday life: large transparent surfaces are conceived to frame specific glimpses of landscape and to draw plant life inside, while the architectural form and its porticoes engage actively with the site. Inside, maximising the fluidity of the spaces led to a hierarchical sequence of open-plan rooms for the large living area, where the thread running through every decision is reinforced by specific choices of material and finish: the interiors are marked by the relationship between natural, vibrant, warm and welcoming material inserts and others with a more modern, technological character, intended to reflect the clients' personality and to accommodate the natural inclinations and comfort of the family who live the intimacy of the house day by day.
