A Place to Smile

The project involved the reception, the waiting room and the offices, and began with a careful analysis of needs, aiming to create an environment that makes waiting pleasant and relaxing, as well as communicating the services on offer effectively. Based on the innovative principles of neuroarchitecture, the design focuses on users' comfort and their physical and mental wellbeing.

The spaces were conceived as low-stimulus environments, reducing contrasts of material and colour and making the most of natural light to create a harmonious atmosphere. The pale ceiling aids postural relaxation, while the monitors show images of natural landscapes to calm the nerves and provide information about the services available.

A fresh accent of colour, from the sky-blue tones of the theatrical lighting and the staff's uniforms, further helps convey calm and serenity. The sensory aspects were attended to in detail: a selection of classical and jazz music as a background soundtrack and a delicate ambient fragrance with notes of freshly cut grass and flower buds complete the experience, heightening the sense of relaxation and welcome.
